With the DAVE 12 G4X the search is over. The active compact PA consisting of a 12" subwoofer and two satellites with 6.5" drivers (total power: 1460 W peak) not only offers a new, modern design with numerous handling optimisations, but also an integrated 6-channel mixer with all the important input options. This allows a wide range of setups and combinations of instruments, vocals and playback devices to be created — wired and wireless thanks to integrated Bluetooth for easy streaming from a smartphone or tablet.
The first two mixer channels are laid out as channel strips. Here you can connect either a microphone, a high-impedance instrument — for example guitar or bass — or line-level sources. For tone shaping you have a 2-band EQ for bass and treble and an adjustable reverb with three presets (Small, Large, Plate) on each channel. Channels 3+4 are configured as stereo line inputs and are suitable, among other things, for keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines or small electronic drum kits.
The DAVE 12 G4X becomes even more versatile if you use the digital SPDIF stereo input or the Bluetooth connection to expand your performance setup with a media player, computer or smartphone, from which you can play and control backing tracks, sound effects or intermission music. Likewise, inputs (channels 5+6) can be used for a karaoke system or simply to reproduce a TV in a sports bar with authoritative sound.
Speaking of authoritative sound: the DAVE 12 G4X has been redesigned and developed from the ground up. Instruments and music benefit from this, as does speech intelligibility when the PA is used for voice reinforcement. The acoustic concepts include new compression drivers and waveguides for a homogeneous and directional dispersion, as well as FIR filters and state-of-the-art DSP technology for a transparent, uncoloured sound you haven't heard from a DAVE before. For example, the subwoofer has been fitted with a larger voice coil and an optimised bass-reflex system to minimise ventilation noise.
The DAVE 12 G4X is overall predestined for flexible use. The selectable mode presets for classic stereo operation or the configuration with two closely spaced satellites on a T-stand above the subwoofer contribute significantly to this — the DAVE G4X delivers convincing sound in all configurations. The latter preset enables interference-free clustering of two satellites via a special M/S split and playback of the stereo signal for increased headroom and directivity.
