Compared to the trumpet, the cornet is more comfortable to hold thanks to its more compact design and it is also easier to play. The timbre lies between the hard tone of the trumpet and the soft, room-filling sound of the flugelhorn.
The CC-CR4100L from Chicago Winds is modelled on instruments from well-known manufacturers. A fixed ring for intonation equalisation is fitted to the third valve slide and a U-thumb saddle to the first valve slide. Fine rubber sealing rings are also fitted to the first and third valve slides. The valves on the CC-CR4100L cornet are made of smooth-running monel, which has very good lubricating properties. There is a water flap on both the third valve slide and the tuning slide. A music holder case for the marching fork is included.
A mouthpiece and a sturdy case with rucksack straps are included.
