Germanium fuzz pedals have the unpleasant characteristic of reacting to the ambient temperature - the sound can change drastically. The clever guys from Benson Amps in Portland Oregon have come up with a cool solution: an internal heating element provides a constant temperature so that the pedal emits a constant sound. Benson Amps calls this process Automatic Thermally Bias. After switching on the Stonk Box, it takes approx. 2-3 minutes for the pedal to achieve the correct sound - this is also indicated by a colour change in the LED. The Stonk Box delivers rich, powerful fuzz in the Tonebender MK 1 style, which never sounds thin and crumbly - always dynamic and direct, ideal for vintage-inspired riffs.
