A new series to honour Taylor's history
We are pleased to present the new Taylor Legacy Collection featuring five acoustic models that honour Taylor's long company history. Three of them are redesigned rosewood/spruce models from the iconic 800 Series, tracing back to some of Bob Taylor's earliest guitars. The other two put Bob's flagship Grand Auditorium body at the centre — the body that helped define the modern Taylor sound. These two models are based on guitars from the 500 and 700 Series. Inspired by Bob's original instruments, these retro models reflect the full sweep of Taylor Guitars' history by combining core design elements with the key developments that followed.
The key features of the Legacy 810e
The Legacy 810e is a tribute to the Taylor design innovations of 1975. It delivers the tone, looks and feel of the original dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar with some refined details that enhance the instrument's sound and aesthetics. Back and sides are made of Indian rosewood. The top is Sitka spruce. This model pays homage to Bob Taylor's inventiveness and his eye for guitar building. The choice of woods and the traditional X-Bracing give the instrument a full, powerful and warm tone with lively overtones and sparkle in the highs. Refined updates include a modern Taylor neck profile and a slightly revised version of the dreadnought shape.
The appointments also recall the original details of the early 800 Series instruments, including white binding, a three-ring green abalone rosette, Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, a tortoise pickguard and ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots.
This Legacy guitar is fitted with an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup with soundhole-mounted controls. It ships with a deluxe hardshell case and carries a specially designed Legacy interior label.
