Product information "Fender Shields Blender Fuzz"
At the end of 1968, Fender launched the Fender Blender, a weird octave fuzz pedal - a fuzz beyond the harmonic euphony - nasty, shrill fuzz with a cool octave up effect - prominent user was and is Robin Trower. The legendary fuzz pedal is also part of Kevin Shields' fleet, who regularly causes a furore with his weird "wall of fuzz" sounds. Fender has now given him a cool signature version with significantly extended control options - the Fender Blender on Steroids! There are 2 channels available, the Sub Octave sound has been added to the Octave Up sound of the historical model - switchable by foot and, like the direct sound, can be mixed continuously. Also on board is an adjustable "Dying Battery" - SAG effect. The Shields Blender's métier is dark doom fuzz, crumbling sounds chopped up beyond recognition and aggressive, broken octave up saw sounds - marvellous!!!
An American manufacturer from the 90s had the following fitting slogan at the ready:
