Product information "Epiphone Thunderbird 64 Ember Red"
What do you think of first when someone mentions a Thunderbird bass? The unmistakable shape designed by legendary car designer Ray Dietrich? The sustain‑enhancing nine‑ply neck‑through‑body construction? The powerful low end from the two high‑output bass humbucker pickups? Classic, eye‑catching, car‑industry‑inspired special finishes? In honour of the 60th anniversary of the groundbreaking Gibson Thunderbird, Epiphone is proud to present the Thunderbird '64. Inspired by the vintage Gibson T‑Bird basses of that era, the new Thunderbird '64 retains all the classic elements that made the originals iconic, from the nine‑ply mahogany‑and‑walnut neck‑through‑body construction to the instantly recognisable embossed Thunderbird logo on the three‑ply pickguard.
As soon as you take it out of the supplied Premium‑Gigbag and plug it in, you’ll immediately notice the deep, rich tone of the Thunderbird '64, brought to life by a pair of powerful ProBucker 760 bass humbucker pickups in combination with CTS potentiometers. Modern features like a new Graph Tech nut and clover‑button tuners with a 19:1 gear ratio ensure stable tuning, but the focus here is on vintage vibes. Available in Ember Red, Silver Mist and Inverness Green, the Thunderbird '64 delivers the specs, the look, the playing feel and the tone of a priceless vintage Thunderbird at an affordable price.

When you think of Epiphone you naturally think of Gibson, since the maker of guitars, basses, amplifiers and accessories has been part of that company since 1957. Epiphone mainly offers instruments in the lower to mid price range. That means beginners can pick up electric guitar and bass classics such as Les Paul, SG, Explorer, Firebird, ES-335 or Thunderbird for little money. There are also instruments from earlier Epiphone eras like Casino, Wildkat, Riviera and Wilshire. In particular, Epiphone's beginner sets for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and electric bass are worth a close look for newcomers.
