David Gilmour is regarded as one of the best "less is more" guitarists in the world - where other guitar heroes fire off fireworks of hundreds of notes per second, he takes it easy, few but extremely fitting and very good sounding notes with an absolute goose bump factor. A milestone in his career was the legendary "Wish you were here" album with hits such as "Shine on you crazy Diamond", "Have a Cigar" etc. Dave's good old Hiwatt amps in combination with the Colorsound Overdriver/Power Booster pedals played a decisive role in these legendary guitar sounds. Crazy Tube Circuits has packed this sound milestone into a compact effects pedal: the Hi Power Dual Channel Amp in a Box/Overdrive Pedal. The pedal has 2 sections that can also be used independently: the amp side with an analogue simulation of the legendary Hiwatt amp with selectable 504 (50 watt top) and 103 (100 watt top with extended headroom) mode. The 3-band EQ corresponds to the EQ of the amp, and the special Presence and Master controls of the amp are also authentically simulated. The overdrive/boost version works with historically correct BC184 transistors - the gain control can be used to select between boost, overdrive and fuzz-like sounds. In Power Boost mode, as with the original Power Booster, the circuit works with 18 volts operating voltage for higher headroom. A serial FX loop can be used either for separate use of both pedal sections or for looping in external effect pedals. A piece of prog rock history in a cool British Racing Car Green housing.
