In the 1950s, Gibson introduced three exotic and futuristic guitars: the Explorer, the Flying V, and the Moderne. Contrary to its siblings, the Moderne then never made it into production. Both the Explorer and Flying V are icons of the rock guitar today, but back then, in the outgoing 1950s, they were far ahead of their time and less that 200 units were ever built, before they disappeared from the catalogue in 1960. A Moderne in the wild was never sighted - maybe Gibson sensed, that a third Modernist would be too much at this time, maybe negative reactions to the prototype led to its untimely decease - we'll never know. However, the Moderne has always been Gibson's most mythical, rarest and hardest-to-find guitar - until now. Enter the "new" Gibson Moderne, with the looks, the feel and the sound of a long lost original!
