Fitted with strong P.A.F. Humbuckers and painted in Sunburst finish for the first time, the original guitars of this period are unaffordable. At the Gibson Custom Shop these instruments are modeled after the originals with a stunning attention to detail. The '58 Reissues have a strong neck and their tops are usually not very much figured, but this has definitely a charm of it's own(and lots of it). They are built from the same materials and with the same care as the '59 and '60 models. Lightly Aged V.O.S. vs. High Gloss The Gibson Custom Shop offers a range of models with two different types of finish. On the one hand there is the well-known high - gloss (high gloss) finish, the gloss is to be found both in the paint, as well as the hardware. This contrasts with the V.O.S. (Vintage Original Spec) - series. With a new, proprietary method of painting is the gently aged patina of a vintage - inspired by classic and also the nickel - Hardware has started accordingly. As with all Reissue - Les Pauls of the mahogany body is in one piece and solid - there are no weight-saving measures, here is light wood built. Equally obvious is the historically correct Long Neck Tenon (neck heel), the one with the standard - is not series. For all models is 100% nitro-cellulose - used paint.
