"THE KOSHI GLOCKENSPIEL"With more than 20 years of experience and, as always, with a passion for musical sound, Kabir, the inventor of the world famous Shanti carillon, has been looking for ways to improve his earlier creation. Now he can introduce you to the Koshi Carillon, which has already won the hearts of sound lovers around the world.
The Koshi Glockenspiel is an authentic musical instrument, an original creation of high quality. Each carillon is handmade in our workshop at the foot of the Pyrenees and is the result of careful craftsmanship.
Eight chords are welded with silver into the metal plate at the bottom of the resonance tube. The precise tuning produces a clear sound play rich in overtones. The overtones of the shorter chords gradually dominate and become fundamental tones, thus forming a circular tone range. Move the chime by holding it gently on the string: The crystalline, relaxing sound may leave you in silent wonder. In suspension it will play with the wind and carry you away in an unexpected melody.
With its resonance box made of bamboo, a material known since prehistoric times for its acoustic quality, the Koshi Glockenspiel is deeper in sound and richer in overtones. It is first and foremost a musical instrument, but its simple and elegant design makes it suitable for any decor.
Four new melodies were created. Terra, Aqua, Aria and Ignis, inspired by the four elements Each has a specific magical tone color and can be played harmoniously with all the others.
The cylinder made in the workshop is made of bamboo veneer and treated with natural oil.
Bamboo veneer is used because it is much stronger than natural bamboo. A real "resonance tube" of high acoustic quality is made with thin layers of bamboo. This in combination with a new tuning technique gives the sound even more depth and enriches the overtones.
The diameter of the cylinder is 6.3 cm and the height is with 16.5 cm 4 cm longer than in earlier shantis.
