VOX Continental Red G

The Continental Red (Continental Type-2/VCH-2) is a 10 hole Richter harmonica. This makes it one of the mouth harps popularly known as the Blues Harp. Together with the Continental Red (Continental Type-2/VCH-2) it represents the first harmonica series from Vox.

These high-quality harmonica are manufactured in Japan by Suzuki, the renowned manufacturer of all types of harmonica. Thus, a high and consistent quality is guaranteed for the British Bulldog.

The quality is also reflected in the choice of materials. The British Bulldog is equipped with exceptionally robust dark green stainless steel cover plates. In addition, the cover plates, which are wide open at the rear and have side slits, provide an outstanding sound that is highly appreciated by blues and rock musicians.

As known from Suzuki, the reedplates are made of a brass alloy with phosphor bronze. Like the stainless steel sound covers, this also increases the durability of this harmonica series. Another advantage of this alloy is the full and warm sound characteristics. This makes the British Bulldog a harp, that fits perfectly into different music styles, such as blues, rock and country, and is also ideal for use on stage.

A great number of harmonica players loves the sound of wooden comb bodies. However, wood is susceptible to moisture and can deform if the comb is not well insulated.
This is why Suzuki chose a daring approach: They created a comb material, that combines the robustness of a plastic comb with the warm sound of a wooden comb. The resulting material simulates the feel and sound of wood, but consists of only 50% natural wood fibres.
Of course, the British Bulldog could not do without this material, because it fits perfectly to the warm sound character and also supports the durability of this harp series.

All in all, Vox has brought a really successful harmonica series to the market with the British Bulldog, that, in terms of durability and sound, doesn't have to hide from any other renowned brand.

The culmination are the included accessories. In addition to the plastic case and a cleaning cloth, the notes of two Beatles songs are included, too. ("Love Me Do" and "From Me to You" ).
