TritonAudio FetHead Filter · Microphone Preamp

FetHead Filter from TritonAudio is a version of the FetHead with a 6 dB / octave high-pass filter with a corner frequency of 220 Hz. This microphone preamplifier is designed specifically for microphones that exhibit excessive proximity effect or low frequency response. The components that make up the filter are not directly in the signal path, but are applied to the components that adjust the gain of the FetHead Filters amplifier, making it frequency dependent. In this way, the sound character is preserved.

Some ribbon microphones do not tolerate phantom power. FetHead's circuitry requires 48 V phantom power, but does not pass it to the microphone, protecting ribbon microphones when used with the FetHead.
