Violin

The violin is a string instrument made of different woods or composite materials. The four strings (g, d1, a1, e2) are played with a bow. If you are just starting off with a violin it is recommended to choose an appropriate instrument. If it is for small hands and short arms 7/8, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8-size (sometimes also 1/16- and even 1/32-size). These designations are unfortunately a little misleading, since a 3/4 violin is actually only about 6% smaller than the normal violin and a small 1/2 size only 12%.
