Schlagwerk has been among the most innovative percussion manufacturers for the last 25 years. The company that is specialized in the development and production of percussion instruments made of wood was founded by Gerhard Priel and Bengt Schumacher. Schlagwerk produces all its instruments following its own ideas and designs and has become a worldwide insider tip. In the first years the focus was on the production of professional log drums. The range was extended in the following years and now includes frame drums, Udo Drums, percussion and Cajons.

In 1986 the first Schlagwerk Cajon paved the way for one of the most successful percussion instruments of the past decade. The Cajon la Perù set the standard for sound and quality of the modern Cajon in the early 90's and Schlagwerk Percussion gained international response. Schlagwerk has a very special sound that can be found on its full range of instruments.
