Rode Podcaster MkII

Product information "Rode Podcaster MkII"

The RODE Podcaster microphone is based on the Rode Broadcaster microphone, winner of the Radio World/US National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) "What's Cool" award. The Rode Broadcaster has become an industry standard when studio sound quality is required for on-air applications. The Podcaster mic was specifically designed for computer recording applications where wide frequency response and low distortion are demanded. The Podcaster makes digital recording "plug and play" easy for both Mac and PC with built-in A/D conversion and USB connection.

The Rode Podcaster offers an end-address configuration, the clarity of Rode's EQed-for-voice frequency response, an "ON" LED, a direct headphone amp 3.5mm jack ouput on the Podcaster body with volume control, and of course very low self noise that we expect from Rode. The microphone offers a switchable high-pass filter and comes complete with a 5M USB cable. Optional extras include a shock mounting system and soon-to-be-released Anglepoise style table mount arm.

Since the Podcaster is USB compliant, by simply connecting your USB cable to the mic and your PC or Mac, you will be able to record using the standard audio interface controls in your operating system. Installing the free Rode software available on the Podcaster website will offer more professional recording control.

About Rode

Innovation from Australia

RØDE is an Australian manufacturer of microphones and audio accessories based in Sydney. The company was founded in 1967 and has developed since the 1990s into one of the world’s leading brands in recording, broadcast and content‑creation audio.

RØDE became internationally known above all for its large‑diaphragm condenser microphones, which made professional sound quality available at an attractive price. Models like the NT1 or NT1‑A quickly established themselves in the home and project studio sector and remain a staple of many music and speech productions to this day.

Over the years RØDE has continuously expanded its range. In addition to studio condenser microphones, the portfolio today also includes dynamic microphones, broadcast and podcast microphones, video and camera microphones, lavalier and wireless systems as well as extensive accessories. Especially in the areas of content creation, streaming and mobile recording, RØDE offers practical solutions for modern production environments.

A central feature of the brand is the close linkage of technical development, manufacturing expertise and quality control at its Australian site. RØDE relies on modern production processes and high quality standards, which is reflected in the longevity and reliability of its products.

Today RØDE microphones are used worldwide in home studios, professional recording studios, broadcasting organisations and by content creators. The brand stands for reliable audio quality, innovative technologies and strong value for money.
