With the OD5, Austrian Audio brings an active dynamic microphone to the market that is optimised for use with instruments.
Handmade in Vienna and undergoing the strictest quality assurance processes, the OD5 instrument microphone also offers several special features in typical Austrian Audio fashion.
Most notable is the "Swivel Joint" mechanism. To make positioning the instrument microphone easier, Austrian Audio's engineers have developed a suspension for the microphone basket that allows a 220° rotation. This enables the microphone to be aimed precisely at the sound source or aligned according to personal tonal preferences without having to awkwardly adjust or loosen the mic stand.
As a very versatile instrument microphone the OD5 will find many applications. It is excellent for use on various drums; a dedicated mount has been developed for this and is available as an optional accessory. It is also well suited to guitar amplifiers and to wind instruments thanks to its technical characteristics.
