Department Guitar and Bass

We love guitars

For historical reasons alone, our guitar department is one of the company's biggest draws. The idea for Musik Produktiv was born in the early 70s, when a young student teacher headed west in his beat up VW van to get hold of the guitars and amps across the English Channel that German and European guitarists had only dreamed of until then.

After decades of consistent success, the Musik Produktiv guitar department still holds an important hub in the European guitar and music scene. The numbers speak for themselves: 1600 square meters of showroom space on two levels offer room for over 1500 guitars and basses, 1000 different guitar effects, hundreds of amps, cabinets, cables, and of course all the accessories. With us you can be sure to find the right instrument no matter if you are a beginner, an advanced player or a professional.

Unique and exclusive to our guitar department are the two rooms for guitar and bass amps, where you can switch between 75 heads and 50 cabinets to get the perfect comparison situation. The switching matrix is one of a kind: all switching processes are automatically monitored and regulated. Impedance in tube amps therefore no longer play a role, just think about that for a second. Feel free to bring your own rig and be amazed by this extraordinary experience.

Just as special is our Guitar Gallery or better said The Red Salon, the Holy Grail for guitars, where you'll find the best of the best of the custom builds from Fender, Gibson, and other top manufactures. If you can't make it out to Laggenbeck, don't miss the instruments in our digital Guitar Gallery shown in fantastic detailed photographs.

Lovers of acoustic guitars won't miss out either. In our showrooms for acoustic guitars you'll find everything a musician's heart desires from entry to collector's level. Climate controlled environment ensures optimal conditions for these sensitive instruments, and insulated test cabins provide a detailed listening experience in a comfortable setting.

Brian Ball, grandson of the legendary string inventor and Rock'n'Roll pioneer Ernie Ball, said during his last visit: "I have never seen anything like that, I wish every guitar store in the world would be just a little bit like this."
