Welcome back to the roaring 20's! The Gretsch G9221 Bobtail Steel RN is based on the great time of resonator guitars in the 1920s and 1930s. At this time before the invention of the electric guitar, one was looking for ways to construct a loud and assertive guitar to make an acoustic guitar audible even in a big band. Resonator guitars were the solution. The Gretsch Bobtail is similar to this legendary guitar type: Steelbody, Single Cone Spider Resonator and Roundneck version for standard playing styles. Gretsch has integrated a Fishman Nashville pickup for electrical amplification.
