Gibson Les Paul Studio Smokehouse Burst · Electric Guitar

Gibson Les Paul Studio - no year, but with coil splitting via push / pull potentiometers.

According to its name, the Gibson Les Paul Modern has a few modern features that some fans have found over the years. The Burstbucker Pro are splitable and can be operated out-of-phase, as you are used to from the last standard models. If necessary, the entire tone control can also be bypassed as usual. The asymmetrical neck with the contoured neck foot was also adopted. Brass saddle, zero fret and autotune system, however, cannot be found on these Guitars.

Gibson Les Paul Studio

Studio

Always been outshined by the Les Paul Standard models, the Les Paul Studio finally managed to establish itself as a great instrument with excellent features. It uses exclusive woods (mahogany body and maple top) and the popular 490R and 498T Alnico Humbuckers that deliver a sound made for professionals producing a lot of sustain and tonal depth which is highly appreciated.

2013 model

Besides the name, no changes to the design were made to the Les Paul Studio 2013, compared to the 2012 model. Like the 2012 model, it has so-called "modern weight reliefs". This variation of weight reduction leaves much more wood to the body than the tone chambers, but also takes away more wood than the so-called "swiss cheese holes" you'll find in the Les Paul Signature T model.

Les Paul Collection

The Les Paul was Gibsons first solid body guitar and was meant to be the answer to the already successful Fender Telecaster.Gibson were quite unsure if the name "Gibson" should be on their newest edition or not, so to be on the safe side, they contacted the most famous guitarist of that time to ensure the success they wanted.
Les Paul, alias alias Rhubarb Red, alias Lester William Polfuss (1915-2009), was turned away holding his prototype solid body guitar by Gibson only a few years earlier. The guitar sold well in the beginning but was replaced by the SG model due to reduced sales numbers. Then a person by the name of Eric Clapton plugged his 60´s Les Paul in to a Marshall amp...
