Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s Vintage Sunburst · Electric Guitar

Les Paul Collection
He’d spend every weekend at the empty factory halls of Epiphone in order to work on the realisation of his concept of the ideal guitar. Around in 1941 Les Paul built “The Log” which was his first prototype of an electric solid body guitar. He used a block of maple wood which he fitted with a bridge, pickups, tailpiece and a normal Gibson guitar neck. He then cut along one his Epiphone guitars and glued both halves of the body to the back and front of the block and finished was his first solidbody electric guitar.

Standard/Classic Collection
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard is the only Gibson USA-authorised replica of the Gibson Les Paul standard and it’s also one of the most sold instruments worldwide. It incorporates the same features that made its big sister from 1952 legendary: Glued-in neck, trapezoid inlays, humbucker pickups for a powerful sound and classy finishes ranging from black to different kinds of sunburst or even gold top.

Features at a glance:
  • Colour: Ebony
  • Body: Mahogany
  • Neck: Mahogany, set-in
  • Fretboard: Rosewood, 22 frets, trapezoid inlays
  • Pickups: 2 Humbuckers
  • Hardware: Chrome
  • Bridge: Fixed bridge
  • Switches/Controls: 2 Volume controls, 2 Tone controls, switches for pickup selection

Epiphone have been in the business for 125 years now. Epaminondas Stathopoulos is the founder and namesake of Epiphone. He has already obtained his first patent when he was only 24 years old. The history of Epiphone has also been shaped greatly by the brilliant guitarist Les Paul experimenting in the Epiphone factory to design the first solid body electric guitar in 1941. Today Epiphone stand for both innovative guitar design and for excellent yet affordable replicas of true guitar classics.

Epiphone Original Les Paul
The Epiphone Original Les Paul includes reissues of the classic Les Paul guitars of the 50s and 60s.
