Bongos

Bongos are two joined together hand drums originated in Cuba. They are mostly made of wood or fiberglass. Just like the congas bongos have only one skin, the underside is so open. Who now wants to know: The larger of the two drums is called a "macho" and the smaller, "Hembra," which means female. Bongos are typically tuned to sound so high and very penetrating.
