The Ruby '63 is a compact modelling amp pedal from the UAFX series. With the subtitle "Top Boost Amplifier" it's clear that Universal Audio is emulating a legendary British tube combo. The amp pedal features a custom boost circuit and a distinctive tremolo effect. The tailored speaker simulation includes two variants of the well-known "blue" standard speaker and a 12-inch model favoured by Brian May.

Whether for live performances, in the studio or as a complement to real amplifiers, the Universal Audio UAFX Ruby '63 is versatile. Thanks to its stereo inputs the pedal isn't just suited to guitarists, but also to keyboard players and sound designers. With direct controls the pedal is intuitive to use and offers knobs for bass, treble and boost, as well as volume, cut and output. Three channels can be selected directly on the pedal, as can the three speaker variants (Silver, Blue, Green).
The pedal is built in stereo and features a live mode, an onboard preset slot and can be expanded and controlled via the app.

With the RUBY '63 Top Boost Amplifier, Universal Audio is dedicating itself to another amp icon: the legendary '63 AC30 Top Boost - the amp with the legendary dynamics - from crystal-clear clean to rich crunch, infinitely controllable via the guitar's volume pot. The unique vibrato is also included. Also on board are 3 speaker simulations familiar from the OX Box: Blue Bulldog, Silver Bulldog and Greenback - the UAFX Control App gives you access to 3 more speaker simulations: 1 x 12" AC 15 Blue Bulldog Cab, 2 x 12" Matchless Cab with G12-H speaker and Two-Rock 2 x 12" with Celestion Gold speakers. Also on board are 2 legendary boost circuits: the Range Master Treble Booster and the Echoplex Preamp. With the optional UAFX Control App, the pedal can be edited extensively and new presets can be loaded. The cabinet and microphone simulations can be switched to bypass so that the Ruby pedal can also be used in front of a conventional guitar amp.

Pioneer in audio recording for more than 50 years
Founded in 1958 by Bill Putnam Sr., Universal Audio has long been synonymous with innovative recording equipment. As the favourite engineer of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and others, Bill was a passionate innovator who is regarded as the father of modern audio recording. Many of his legendary studio and equipment designs are still in use today. B. Putnam was the inventor of the modern mixing console, the multiband audio equaliser and he was the first engineer to use artificial reverb on commercial recordings. Alongside his friend Les Paul, Bill was also involved in the early development of stereophonic recording.
Putnam, known as a driven entrepreneur, founded three audio product companies during his long career: Universal Audio, Studio Electronics and Urei. All three companies built devices that were widely adopted after their introduction and would shape the studio sound for generations. The boutique compressors LA-2A and 1176 and the 610 tube console are among these legends. Artists such as Sinatra, the Beach Boys and Van Halen recorded their studio albums on the 610 console.
Universal Audio was re-established in 1999 by Bill's sons James Putnam and Bill Putnam Jr. The plan was twofold: on the one hand to faithfully reproduce classic analogue recording gear in their father's tradition; and on the other to bring the sound and spirit of vintage analogue technology into the new digital recording tools .
By now impressive effects pedals for guitarists and specialised guitar-recording tools such as the Universal Audio OX are also part of the range and are extremely popular with fans of outstanding tone.
