There are few guitars as famous as Eddie Van Halen’s favourite six‑string companion, affectionately known as “Frankenstein”. This guitar was Eddie’s attempt to combine the sound of a classic single‑cut solidbody with the physical characteristics and tremolo‑bar functionality of an ST‑style guitar. The EVH Frankenstein “Frankie” series is a tribute to Eddie Van Halen’s iconic red‑black‑white Frankenstrat — complete with a matching worn relic finish.
This solidbody electric, carved from a single piece of basswood, delivers a punchy, full‑bodied tone. A Wolfgang humbucker provides Eddie’s classic voice, especially when the guitar is played through a high‑gain amp. Equipped with a slim quartersawn maple neck and a fast‑playing maple fretboard with a compound radius, this guitar is built for shredding. The body‑mounted D‑Tuna Floyd Rose lets you effortlessly emulate Eddie’s signature tremolo and gives you instant access to drop D tuning. The EVH Frankenstein Series models capture the classic Van Halen vibe, but most importantly they deliver an aggressive tone and lightning‑fast playability.
