The tone hole network has been optimised in the Generation 2.0 clarinets from Schreiber. This significantly improves intonation balance and reduces blowing resistance.
The modified positioning of the keys not only improves the fit of the keys on the body, but also guarantees optimum coverage of the tone holes. In addition to the optimised inner bore, which creates less resistance in the instrument and an even air flow thanks to the smooth transition from the lower joint to the cup, the new cup shape with thicker walls is primarily responsible for the fuller sound and greater projection.
The overall package of predominantly acoustic innovations is visually rounded off by the perfected surface treatment, which brings out the fine wood grain of the new generation of W. Schreiber clarinets to optimum effect.

The Schreiber D-45 Virtuoso is equipped with numerous features. The newly designed ring keys are a special feature. In addition, the improved ergonomic shape provides the player with optimum support and a relaxed playing feel. The solid nickel silver mechanism has been optimised and is extra silver-plated.
Body:
Only selective wood is used in the manufacture of the body. Before processing, the grenadilla is stored for several years to prevent it from cracking later on. The individual components are then manufactured (pears, top piece, bottom piece, cup). After the wood has been in a long oil bath, the absorbed oil is "preserved" in the wood with paraffin. The wood is then stored again for a longer period and then finished by experienced employees.
Finally, a thorough final inspection is carried out. The instrument is visually inspected for defects. After passing the visual inspection, the clarinet is then played to ensure that every D-26 produced has excellent intonation.
Special feature of the Virtuoso on the body:
The instrument is also equipped with a cup mechanism, which optimises the tuning of the low notes. The design of the tone holes was developed according to acoustic criteria, thus achieving accurate intonation in all registers.
Action:
The action is made of nickel silver. This robust material guarantees a long service life and unadulterated playing pleasure. The surface of the action is also extra silver-plated. The adjustable thumb rest is also made of nickel silver and then silver-plated in the same way.

The new comfortable thumb rest with attachment option for a strap offers ideal relief for the right hand. In addition, blued needle springs ensure smooth key action and the high-quality pads guarantee first-class covering of the instrument.
