Universal Audio Apollo Solo USB Heritage
Apollo Audio-Interfaces
The Apollo interfaces from Universal Audio are probably among the most popular audio interfaces in the music industry. The interfaces stand out for their high audio quality, excellent build quality and their extensive plug-in catalogue. All models in the Apollo series, from the entry-level Solo to the x16, feature high-quality A/D and D/A converters as well as UAD-2 DSP processor technology, which enables virtually latency-free recordings even when powerful plug-ins are used. The Apollo series interfaces are available in two different form factors. In addition to the studio-oriented rack models, more compact desktop versions are also available.
Desktop Interfaces
The desktop variants of the Apollos are, thanks to their more compact design, particularly well suited for use in the home studio. The models Solo, Twin and x4 are on a par with the studio models in terms of sound quality. The Apollo Solo TB3 can also be used on the go thanks to the Thunderbolt connection.
Also available in rack format
For those of you who need even more capacity, the rack models x6, x8, x8p and x16 are an excellent choice. These powerful interfaces have been at home in many recording studios around the world for years, and not without reason.
Apollo Heritage Edition
The Apollo-series interfaces are also available as Heritage Editions. These are hardware-identical to the standard interfaces. The Heritage Editions include additional plug-ins worth €1,300 to €2,400. These plug-ins include complete collections from Teletronix®, Pultec®, Helios® as well as a large selection of UA plug-ins. Which plug-ins are included with each model can be found on the respective product pages. Just take a look.

With classic mixing tools and true UA conversion, the Apollo Solo USB turns your recordings into albums. The Apollo Solo USB features industry-leading Universal Audio conversion, two Unison microphone preamps and a number of integrated effects. This 2 x 4 USB 3 audio interface for Windows includes a generous collection of UAD plug-ins for recording instruments and vocals with virtually zero latency.
Because the Apollo Solo USB is equipped with an integrated UAD-2 SOLO Core processor, you can monitor and record through the full range of UAD Powered plug-ins with near-zero latency. The UAD library is expanded every few months. It contains over 100 software titles and offers everything from classic Moog filters to Ampex tape and Lexicon reverbs.
The Unison technology adapts the input impedance of the Unison preamp to the impedance of the modelled example for modelling classic channel strips and preamps based on tubes and transistors and guitar and bass amps in order to reproduce the sound as faithfully as possible.

Pioneer in audio recording for more than 50 years
Founded in 1958 by Bill Putnam Sr., Universal Audio has long been synonymous with innovative recording equipment. As the favourite engineer of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and others, Bill was a passionate innovator who is regarded as the father of modern audio recording. Many of his legendary studio and equipment designs are still in use today. B. Putnam was the inventor of the modern mixing console, the multiband audio equaliser and he was the first engineer to use artificial reverb on commercial recordings. Alongside his friend Les Paul, Bill was also involved in the early development of stereophonic recording.
Putnam, known as a driven entrepreneur, founded three audio product companies during his long career: Universal Audio, Studio Electronics and Urei. All three companies built devices that were widely adopted after their introduction and would shape the studio sound for generations. The boutique compressors LA-2A and 1176 and the 610 tube console are among these legends. Artists such as Sinatra, the Beach Boys and Van Halen recorded their studio albums on the 610 console.
Universal Audio was re-established in 1999 by Bill's sons James Putnam and Bill Putnam Jr. The plan was twofold: on the one hand to faithfully reproduce classic analogue recording gear in their father's tradition; and on the other to bring the sound and spirit of vintage analogue technology into the new digital recording tools .
By now impressive effects pedals for guitarists and specialised guitar-recording tools such as the Universal Audio OX are also part of the range and are extremely popular with fans of outstanding tone.
