Peavey VTM Preamp Pedal
Product information "Peavey VTM Preamp Pedal"
In the 80s high-gain metal sound suddenly became hugely popular - the era of amp tuners had begun. Countless amp tinkerers upgraded mass-market amps with cascaded gain stages, extended EQ and FX loops. At Peavey, James Brown (the father of the legendary 6505 amp) was the big shot; according to legend he once got a Jose Marshall into his hands and that inspired him for the circuit of the Peavey VTM amp - a 60 or 100 watt valve head with switchable modifications via the "Mäuseklavier" (DIP switches). You could now tune the amp to your personal taste yourself! The VTM Preamp Pedal is a homage to this legendary amp - classic layout with pre and post gain, 3-band EQ and the switchable mods. Thanks to the TransTube circuit, you get authentic high-gain valve tone in a compact pedal format.

Peavey Electronics – powerful sound since 1965
Peavey Electronics stands like few other names for uncompromising sound, innovation and reliability in the field of electric guitar amplifiers. Founded in 1965 by the then 23‑year‑old Hartley Peavey in a garage in Meridian, Mississippi, the company developed within a few decades into one of the world's leading manufacturers of musical instruments and audio technology. The vision was clear from the start: to make professional technology accessible and affordable for everyone – without sonic compromise.
Especially in the world of guitar amplifiers Peavey has secured a firm place in music history. With legendary models like the 6505®, originally created in collaboration with Eddie Van Halen as the "5150", or the versatile Classic® 30, Peavey has shaped entire music genres – particularly rock, hard rock and metal. The combination of brutal high‑gain sound, enormous presence and rugged construction makes Peavey amps a preferred choice for both stage and studio.
Alongside iconic tube amplifiers, Peavey also stands for technological innovation. With the company's own TransTube® technology they succeeded in convincingly emulating the dynamics and playing feel of tube amps in the world of solid‑state amplifiers – ideal for anyone seeking maximum reliability with minimal maintenance. Models like the Bandit 112 have therefore enjoyed cult status among beginners and experienced guitarists alike for decades.
Whether you're looking for a versatile combo for rehearsal room and club, a brutal tube head for the big stage or a reliable partner in the studio: Peavey delivers powerful solutions for modern guitar sounds – built with experience, passion and a feel for practical use.

Back in the day with I started out I began with a Peavey. Something I have always missed is the sound and when the pedal came out I had get one. This is a great Preamp with a huge amount of flexibility. I would recommend using this pedal going into your return on your Loop bypassing the existing Pre Amp to get the best sound.
