The KORG KRONOS 73 remains the ideal stage and studio instrument in the 2025 edition for anyone who needs great flexibility without compromising on sound quality, reliability and features.
The Kronos still offers nine distinct sound engines:
- SGX-2: grand piano and upright piano sounds
- EP-1: vintage electric piano sounds
- CX-3: organ sounds
- Polysix EX: analog-style synth sounds
- MS-20 EX: synthesizer sounds as in the Korg MS-20, including a virtual patch panel via the TouchView display

The on-board sequencer offers 16 MIDI and 16 audio tracks, making it a practical source for click and backing tracks on stage.
The flexible effects section provides 16 effect slots, including 12 insert effects, 2 master and 2 total effects. You can choose from a total of 197 different effect types. In addition there is a 3-band EQ to perfectly adapt the sound to stage and studio.
The KARMA function generates complex musical accompaniments in real time that can be intuitively controlled and adjusted via the faders and buttons in the controller section.
The KORG KRONOS offers a range of performance aids that enable expressive playing. The RH3 hammer action comes with aftertouch, and the control panel also features freely programmable faders, rotary knobs and buttons, an X–Y joystick, an additional vector joystick and a ribbon controller.
The third generation of the Kronos, the KRONOS 2025, delivers significantly faster operation thanks to its optimised system architecture, which is noticeable, among other things, in a much reduced start-up time. The workflow is also smoother and more natural thanks to the faster-responding TouchView display.

The Japanese company Korg INC is one of the most renowned manufacturers of our time when it comes to electronic musical instruments and accessories. Among musicians the company is often simply referred to as Korg. The company was founded on 28 August 1963 by Tsutomu Kato and Tadashi Osanai. The nearly 300 employees at Korg INC are mainly engaged in the manufacture and marketing of synthesizers and samplers, drum machines and sound modules, keyboards and electric pianos, but also USB controllers, electronic drums as well as handy little helpers for guitarists. Worth mentioning here are clip tuners (Pitch-Clip), tuners (CA-50, GA-50, Pitchblack) and metronomes (MA-2) as well as guitar and bass effects.

Die Erwartungen wurden deutlich übertroffen, aber für jemanden, der sich ein solches Instrument zulegt, der sollte wissen, mit der dürftigen Bedienungsanleitung kommt man nicht weit. Tolle Sounds, unfassbar viele Features. Leider benötige ich immer Support bei der Nutzung und nicht alle Videos im Netz sind hilfreich, richten sich da eher an Musiker die jahrelange Erfahrung mit solchen Instrumenten und der Software haben. Für Menschen, die dies leider nicht haben ist es eine große Herausforderung, die Möglichkeiten des Keyboards auch nur annähernd zu verstehen und zu beherrschen. Ändert aber nichts daran, Korg ist mit dem Korg Kronos 3 ein großer Wurf gelungen.
