Generation Music Flageolet C
Product information "Generation Music Flageolet C"
Flageolet or tin whistle
Flageolet is the term for a woodwind instrument that has been used as a general term for a flute since the 13th century. In the late 18th century, the English flageolet with six finger holes on the front was developed, which later gave rise to the tin whistle.
The tin whistle belongs to the penny whistle family (wood whistle, pocket whistle), but unlike the wood whistle, it is made of metal. The penny-whistle is a very popular and widespread instrument and is at home in Irish music, but is also popular with other ethnic groups.
The penny whistle is a relatively easy instrument to learn and was long regarded as a children's instrument. It was not until the Irish folk revival of the 1960s that it became established as a stage instrument on a larger scale. Today, the penny whistle is one of the most popular folk instruments in Ireland and is particularly important in the genres of Irish folk, folk and occasionally medieval music.
