Who is Waxx?
The French musician Waxx is an artist, music producer and social media influencer with over a million followers, but above all he is a guitarist, and the guitar is at the centre of almost everything he does. Waxx embodies the connection between timeless rock'n'roll culture and modern digital society. His fanbase has steadily grown thanks to numerous collaborations and innovative cover songs. Today he hosts the online show FanZine and showcases his talent on stage. With his energy, creativity and timeless rock'n'roll spirit, Waxx embodies the spirit of modern French music. When it comes to gear, Waxx is a big fan of Gibson guitars and Marshall amps.
Rare Gibson model as inspiration
One of his favourite guitars is his old Gibson Nighthawk in Pelham Blue. Compared with classics like the Les Paul, SG and ES-335, the Nighthawk is a relatively unknown model, but it enjoyed particular popularity in the 1990s. Now Epiphone and Waxx have teamed up to create the new Epiphone Waxx Nighthawk Studio, which is significantly more affordable than the original Gibson Nighthawks.
Versatility and modern looks
The Epiphone Waxx Nighthawk features a mahogany body and neck, an Indian laurel fretboard, a GraphTech nut, an unusual-for-Gibson 25.5" scale length and a hardtail Nighthawk bridge that runs through the body. A Waxx logo adorns the back of the headstock, another is engraved on the truss-rod cover. A plain truss-rod cover and vinyl stickers selected by Waxx are also included. The Waxx Nighthawk Studio is powered by two Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers, and a push/pull master tone control allows coil-splitting of both pickups for even more tonal flexibility. The model, like Waxx's original, is finished in Pelham Blue. A hardshell case for secure transport is also included.

When you think of Epiphone you naturally think of Gibson, since the maker of guitars, basses, amplifiers and accessories has been part of that company since 1957. Epiphone mainly offers instruments in the lower to mid price range. That means beginners can pick up electric guitar and bass classics such as Les Paul, SG, Explorer, Firebird, ES-335 or Thunderbird for little money. There are also instruments from earlier Epiphone eras like Casino, Wildkat, Riviera and Wilshire. In particular, Epiphone's beginner sets for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and electric bass are worth a close look for newcomers.
