With the XS-1 Poly Shifter from the Compact Pedal series, Boss raises the bar for pedal pitch shifters considerably: newly developed pitch shift algorithms enable ultra-fast response without significant latency. Polyphonic pitch shifting without annoying glitch artifacts at high octaves, direct, delay-free response for chords or fast runs. The XS-1 offers 6 octaves—3 octaves down and 3 octaves up. Detune mode allows you to achieve an authentic double tracking effect. The Shift Up function simulates a capo. The internal footswitch can be set to either toggle or momentary mode (effect only when the footswitch is held down—ideal for selectively editing individual notes or chords), and an optional footswitch can be used to switch between 2 different intervals.
