Gibson J-45
The Gibson J-45 is one of the most popular acoustic guitars in music history and has been played by artists such as James Blunt, Bob Dylan and Sheryl Crow. The first J-45 guitars were already produced in 1934 and even then had the same body shape as the modern J-45, a round-shoulder dreadnought. Over the years Gibson has repeatedly produced different J-45 models that not only used different woods but sometimes even featured modified body shapes.
Today's J-45 typically consists of a body with mahogany back and sides and a Sitka spruce top. The mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard provides a very comfortable playing feel. Some J-45 models are also equipped with a pickup system, making the guitars even more versatile in their applications.
Due to the high popularity of the J-45, the number of different models is very large. Here you will find, in addition to the classic Studio, Standard and Original models, signature models from Slash as well as 12-string versions and certain Vintage-style Custom Shop guitars. All Gibson J-45 guitars are handcrafted by highly talented luthiers.
