new cable designs are cooked up in studio technology to impress users. Solid wires are often used as inner conductors, with better conductive behaviour of the surface layer and a stranding technique for better audio transmission. This is only theoretically correct, as solid wire has many disadvantages. It is hard and damages the insulation even with slight movement. In addition, it has very little elasticity, so that the copper surface is compressed when bent slightly. Tensile forces on the connector pins should also not be underestimated. To solve these problems, Sommer cable has developed the SC-Carbokab 225, with a conductor smoothing system made of high-density carbon, which is applied directly to the concentrically stranded strands. This has the same electrical advantages as a solid wire, but remains flexible and guarantees constant, excellent values. The good transmission properties of the SC-Carbokab 225 ensure an absolutely linear sound image even over long lengths of up to 200 metres. The 100 % shielding (AL fleece + copper braiding) is important because there is hardly anywhere where there is as much interference from peripheral equipment (effects, computers, synthesisers etc.) as in a professional studio. We use a special HD-PP as insulation, which guarantees the lowest capacitance. With this cable you are "state of the art" and save yourself tedious "esoteric" discussions in the future!
