The Roland EV-5 has been the standard expression pedal for a wide range of applications for years. The lightweight but sturdy plastic housing contains a 50 kOhm potentiometer. Depending on the instrument, the EV-5 can also be used as a volume, real-time parameter control or data input pedal.

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various musical instruments and studio equipment on 18 April 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to reach the market were the first rhythm machines of the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a decisive influence on the techno, electro and hip-hop scenes. In the mid-1970s the JC-120 Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier was developed, whose ultra-clear sound together with the built-in chorus effect won over both Andy Summers of The Police and Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of Metallica. Since then and to this day Roland have continuously expanded their catalogue across a wide range of fields such as digital pianos, grooveboxes, e-drums and synthesizers with high-quality and interesting products.

Material und Bedienungsfreundlichkeit/Stabilität finde ich gut. Natürlich rutscht es weg, aber das ist ja klar bei der Bauweise und deshalb kein "Mangel". Aber die Funktionalität ist nicht so toll: Die Skala von ganz laut bis ganz leise lässt sich nur schlecht regulieren; es ist bei weitem nicht so, dass der komplette Bewegungsraum eine gleichmäßige Steuerung von laut bis leise hergeben würde. Deshalb insg. "ok" (3 Sterne)

Das Pedal ist ein relativ preisgünstiges Pedal. Ich habe es mittlerweile ausgepackt und ausprobiert. Es gibt hier glaube ich nicht allzuviele Aspekte zu bewerten, jedenfalls bin ich glücklich darüber, dass ich für den Preis das bekommen habe, was ich erwartet habe. Ich kann keine Aussage über Haltbarkeit und Belastbarkeit machen, da ich es nicht so oft und vor allem nicht für Liveauftritte benutze. Für die Steuerung meiner Effektgeräte tut es, was es soll.
