Can something as simple as a jack plug socket, which has been around for at least 100 years, be improved still? Of course it can! Pure Tone has tackled one of the weak points of a jack socket: the contact surface. A standard jack socket has one contact for the tip and one contact for the ground connection. Often the contact to the tip is bent due to the weight of the plug or other mechanical factors. The jack is often a source of problems with Stratocasters in particular – the 45° mounting of the jack in the jack plate means that the contacts often bend. The Pure Tone Multi-Contact Jacks each have 2 contact surfaces – the plug is held securely from 2 sides and is no longer easily levered out. The Multi-Contact Output Jack Gold Mono Socket provides the best contact reliability and interference-free signal transmission.
