The Japanese instrument maker Ibanez can look back on a long tradition in guitar and bass construction. Although Ibanez initially made a name for itself with idiosyncratic copies of traditional models from makers like Gibson and Fender, its own series gradually emerged, such as the Iceman, JEM, Artcore and RG. In the 1980s the company became particularly well known in the heavy sector with instruments that stood out for their modern features, distinctive design and excellent playability. Innovations such as 7- and 8-string guitars, born from fruitful collaborations with artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Meshuggah, further helped to establish Ibanez's strong reputation. Today the manufacturer offers an extensive range, from entry-level guitars and basses to exotic Custom Shop models. In addition, Ibanez also impresses in the field of effects and amplifiers, as the classic TS9 Tubescreamer proves. Here you'll find a comprehensive selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and accessories from Ibanez.

So this is quite an expensive Instrument, where you can expect about the best of the best from everything. The guitar itself is really beautiful and plays really really easy. Surprisingly, it's quite heavy (3.8 kg). A few things to my surprise which does not represent the high price or the 'j custom' tag: 1. The Gotoh strap locks are bad. They do not fit the most straps as the buttons are quite bigger, and within 1 week, the strap unlocked itself twice while playing. And i made sure i locked it in correctly and good. After the second time iIremoved them immediately and replaced them. For a 2.5k guitar I expect a more solid mechanism. 2. The tremolo bar loosens. Like why does it even get loose? Why is this a problem? On my Fender the trem bar is solid for 5 years straight, but not on a much pricier Ibanez? Raises some questions... Besides this, beautiful and nice playing guitar.
