ESP LTD MH-1000 Baritone Black Satin
Product information "ESP LTD MH-1000 Baritone Black Satin"
The guitars of the LTD 1000 series were designed to deliver the tone, looks and quality that a professional musician expects from an instrument. The ESP LTD MH-1000 Baritone Black Satin combines a traditional mahogany body with a maple top. An ebony fretboard and the thin "U" neck profile provide a great playing feel, while the EMG 60/81 set supplies the fat tone. For the `low-tuning community` ESP has fitted an extended scale length of 686 mm.

I wanted to replace my old baritone guitar and as a huge fan of ESP guitars, I went for this beautiful MH1000B. It is a magnificent Korea-made satin black guitar with dark Macassar ebony fretboard and brushed metal EMG pickups (traditional 81 in bridge and 60 in neck, but with split for the neck). Crystal clear cleans in the neck and savage chops in the bridge. Yes: it chugs! The neck resonates very well and keeps the sustain for quite long. The guitar is very comfortable to use and fills all my expectations. It features LTD locking tuners that do the job and a locking Tonepros bridge. The paint job is quite good, no flaws, scratches or dings and the guitar itself feels quality. On the other hand, one can doubt this passed quality control for different reasons: -neck pickup was completely uneven (high E side was against the strings as low E side was in righteous place). -bridge was not locked in place and low strings were not fitting on the saddles (with tools marks) -no battery for that price range!? Come on!! -nut was poorly cut, high E string barely retain the string from jumping off -intonation was off The guitar is currently getting a new bone nut and a complete setup by a local luthier and I hereby want to thank Musik Produktiv for their quick and professional reaction to this problem. As a conclusion this is a very good guitar that will meet all your expectations, I have no regrets at all but keep in mind that QC seems to be inconsistent with LTD these times.
