He’d spend every weekend at the empty factory halls of Epiphone in order to work on the realisation of his concept of the ideal guitar. Around in 1941 Les Paul built "The Log" which was his first prototype of an electric solid body guitar. He used a block of maple wood which he fitted with a bridge, pickups, tailpiece and a normal Gibson guitar neck. He then cut along one his Epiphone guitars and glued both halves of the body to the back and front of the block and finished was his first solidbody electric guitar.

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard is the only Gibson USA-authorised replica of the Gibson Les Paul standard and it’s also one of the most sold instruments worldwide. It incorporates the same features that made its big sister from 1952 legendary: Glued-in neck, trapezoid inlays, humbucker pickups for a powerful sound and classy finishes ranging from black to different kinds of sunburst or even gold top.

Epiphone can look back on over 125 years of history. Epaminondas Stathopoulos, founder and namesake of Epiphone, registered his first patent at the age of 24, which was to be followed by many more and revolutionise the world of instrument making. But the history of Epiphone is also closely linked to the ingenious guitarist Les Paul, who experimented in the Epiphone workshops in 1941 and developed the first solid-body electric guitar. When you think of Epiphone you naturally think of Gibson, since the maker of guitars, basses, amplifiers and accessories has been part of that company since 1957. Epiphone mainly offers instruments in the lower to mid price range. That means beginners can pick up electric guitar and bass classics such as Les Paul, SG, Explorer, Firebird, ES-335 or Thunderbird for little money. There are also instruments from earlier Epiphone eras like Casino, Wildkat, Riviera and Wilshire. In particular, Epiphone's beginner sets for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and electric bass are worth a close look for newcomers.

gewoon een recht toe recht aan les paul zonder onzinnige dingen als push pull buttons en andere dingen die je toch nooit gebruikt, met een mooie top en heerlijke hals en zelfs de elementen zijn prima maar dat kan ook met de fifties wiring te maken hebben,dik tevreden!
Ich bin mit dem Produkt rundum zufrieden. Ich habe bekommen, was ich erwartet habe. Alles ist super. 👌
Die tel. Beratung vor der Bestellung war für mich sehr klar und zielführend. Ich konnte die Gitarre mit der Gibson eines Freundes vergleichen und muss sagen, dass ich bei einem Preisunterschied von ca. 2000 € genau die für mich richtige Gitarre erwischt habe. Gut gefallen hat mir neben der kompetenten Beratung auch, dass mein Wunsch, die Gitarre vor Versand zu checken und einzustellen bestens erfüllt wurde. Werde mir zeitnah noch eine weitere Gitarre bei Musik Produktiv kaufen.
Makellose Verarbeitung, wunderschöne Sunburst Lackierung, eine sehr schön geflammte Decke - diese Gitarre ist eine absolute Beauty! Durch die etwas geänderte Kopfplatte so nah am Original - mehr geht wohl nicht. Bespielbarkeit top, obwohl ich eher kurze Finger habe, bin dieses Halsprofil aber von meinen beiden anderen Epi Les Pauls seit Jahren gewöhnt. Hammer Sound, und ein unglaubliches Sustain. Also eine Gitarre für's Leben? Leider nicht. Nach 3 Wochen trat ein nerviges Brummen auf, was auch nach Austausch sämtlicher Kabel und Komponenten nicht verschwinden wollte (meine beiden anderen LP's taten das nicht). Also Anruf bei MP und Termin mit Gitarrenwerkstatt vereinbart. Und dort geschah das Unfassbare: Nach gründlicher Durchsicht der Gitarre - Nichts. Test am Amp - Nichts. Kein Brummen! Als man meine Fassungslosigkeit bemerkte, schlug man mir einen 1 zu 1 Umtausch vor, was ich dankend annahm. Und das geschah so unkompliziert, dass ich nur staunen konnte. Und bevor ich mein neues Schätzchen mitnehmen konnte, wurde sie in der Gitarrenwerkstatt von einem freundlichen Techniker noch komplett durchgesehen und eingestellt. Von daher: Auch für Service 5 STerne von mir! Danke Musik Produktiv!
