Eastman E10SS/v

Eastman E10SS/v – The steel-string acoustic for the discerning musician

The Eastman E10SS/v from the Antique Varnish Series is not just a guitar, it is a masterpiece of craftsmanship designed specifically for professionals and passionate musicians. With its all-solid construction and the use of the highest-quality materials it delivers a tone that convinces both onstage and in the studio. Let's take a closer look at the outstanding features and the unmistakable sound of this exceptional steel-string acoustic.

Construction and playability

The E10SS/v is built entirely from solid woods, which gives it remarkable resonance and tonal richness. The top is made of American Red Spruce (Adirondack spruce), known for its clear, powerful tone. This wood provides excellent projection and a harmonious balance between highs, mids and lows. The choice of mahogany for the body adds extra warmth and depth to the sound, while the ebony fretboard ensures a fast and precise playing experience.

The fretboard radius of 12" (305 mm) and the Traditional Even "C" profile of the mahogany neck offer you a high level of playing comfort, whether you play chords or complex solos. The pearl dot fretboard inlays are not only an aesthetic highlight but also help you find the right position at all times. With a nut width of 42.86 mm (1 11/16") the E10SS/v is ideal for fingerstyle players and allows precise string articulation.

Tuners and strings

The nickel-coloured Open-Gear Ping V93N 3+3 tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio provide precise tuning stability and make tuning the guitar easier. The factory strings, D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze .012 - .053, round off the overall package and deliver a warm, full tone that is convincing in both solo and accompaniment playing.

Design and finish

The Antique Classic colour and the Antique Varnish finish (shellac) give the E10SS/v not only a timeless, elegant appearance but also contribute to its tonal development. The Distressed Finish provides a vintage look that immediately makes the guitar an eye-catcher. The Firestripe-Pickguard completes the overall picture and protects the top from scratches.

Tone and performance

The sound of the Eastman E10SS/v is simply breathtaking. The combination of the Adirondack spruce top and the mahogany body provides a clear, projecting tone that works brilliantly across many genres. The guitar responds quickly and offers a dynamic sound that effortlessly handles both delicate fingerstyle passages and powerful strumming parts. The harmonic resonance and the full bass response make it the perfect choice for singer-songwriters and campfire guitarists.

About Eastman

The guitar workshop Eastman Guitars has its origins in the company Eastman Strings. Eastman Strings was founded in 1992 by Qian Ni in Beijing and originally started with the handcrafted production of high-quality violins, violas, cellos and double basses. Because the traditional craftsmanship and the resulting instruments are still highly valued today, the workshop quickly expanded its range to include acoustic, semi-acoustic and fully solid guitars.

These instruments are created with the same craft skill and precise workmanship as the string instruments, which makes the semi-acoustic models a definite recommendation to try for all jazz and blues guitarists searching for a new instrument. The semi-acoustic guitars are available as Thinline, Archtop and even as a Signature Archtop model. Depending on preference you can then choose between All Solid Carved, Solid Carved Top and laminate models.

The high-quality solid-body guitars in LP style are similar. These are also divided into three levels. The choice is between guitars with Antique Varnish, Truetone Gloss and Truetone Vintage Gloss finishes, with the Antique Varnish finish being inspired by violin making and delivering a full, open and resonant tone.

Fans of acoustic guitars can enjoy the largest selection from Eastman Guitars.

Besides the many different guitar shapes like Dreadnought, Grand Auditorium, Orchestra and Jumbo or OO, Parlor, Travel and further exotics such as Cabaret and Gypsy-Jazz, the western acoustics also differ in their build quality levels and finishes. Among the most popular are the Traditional, AC and the Antique Varnish series.

No matter which instrument you ultimately choose from the guitar workshop Eastman Guitars, you receive a high-quality piece of craftsmanship made from fine tonewoods and convincing with an excellent sound.
