The plate reverb is a relic from the pre-digital era, Hall is generated by means of a metal plate - a thin, losely suspended steel plate (The EMT 140 approximately 1 x 2 m tall!! ) is fitted with a transformer on one side and on the other side a pickup that reproduces the vibrations of the metal plate. This signal is mixed with the original sound so that a full, warm, natural Hall effect arises without many Refractions. The Catalinbread Talisman effects unit reproduces these special sounds deceptively real. The old stock is now a sought after vintage effect device. The Talisman is an affordable alternative in a compact stompbox.
