The Yamaha YBS-480 baritone saxophone is the entry-level model of Yamaha's baritone range and the direct successor to the YBS-32. Many characteristics of the 62 and 82 baritone saxophones are combined here with the optimised features of the YBS-480 to give both students and amateur musicians a fantastic playing experience. This is achieved through improved weight distribution and a lighter, more ergonomic key layout. The shorter bell improves intonation and produces a consistent tone across the entire range. The front F key, the low‑A key, the octave key, and the left and right little-finger keys have been redesigned and the strap ring has been repositioned, allowing more comfortable playing.
