The String Mute effectively dampens overtones, sympathetic open strings and resonances during recordings and/or live performances. There are two different sizes: the String Mute 'S' is suitable for 4-string basses, 6-string electric guitars and ukuleles, while the String Mute 'M' is suitable for 5-string basses and classical guitars.

Ortega Guitars was founded in Germany in 1994 and has combined modern design with authentic, traditional methods of classical guitar building. Today music enthusiasts can choose from a wide variety of stringed instruments such as ukuleles, acoustic basses, mandolins and banjos. Of course smaller guitars such as 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 models for children are also part of the range.
The latest innovations from Ortega include, among other things, the digital stompboxes Horse Kick Pro and Quantum Loop, the Keiki-Series ukuleles for very young musicians and a system specifically for the amplification of acoustic guitars consisting of the head unit H ONE and the matching speaker cabinets S ONE and S TWO. With so much innovation and customer focus it is no surprise that many artists have chosen Ortega guitars and play them in everyday life and on stage. Among the best-known artists with signature instruments from Ortega Guitars are Thomas Zwijsen, Ben Woods, Javier Reyes and Ken Taylor.
