The BOSS RC-500 is a modern 2 track looper with integrated mixing and comprehensive control options. The stereo looping engine provides up to 13 hours of recording capacity. The loop status display is indicated by an LCD with multi-color backlighting. In addition to MONO/STEREO inputs, an XLR microphone input including phantom power is also available. Reverse function and various loop effects are also part of the RC-500, as are the 16 drum kits and 57 preset rhythms with A/B variation. External footswitches and an expression pedal can be connected to the looper. A MIDI input and output are available as mini-jack connectors. In addition, the loop station can store and load WAV loops via USB.
