“Boogie Woogie Starter” is a tutor that introduces the basics of boogie-woogie playing and the related blues improvisation. Michael Gundlach shows, alongside the typical left‑hand bass figures, how easy it can be to improvise your own boogie song with only three notes in the right hand. Building on that, improvisation with four or five notes is explained. The easily understandable theory patterns provide an uncomplicated entry to blues improvisation. For the 14 pieces in this piano method, professional band playbacks were produced in two versions: with piano as a listening example, and as play‑along tracks for you to join in. This allows practising solo piano as well as playing with a real band. Thanks to its systematic structure, the method is ideal both for modern piano lessons and for self-study. The difficulty ranges from easy to intermediate and is suitable for pianists with around 3 years' playing experience.
