RMX-IGNITE, AlphaTheta's next-generation effects unit, is designed to spark creative ideas and take performances to a new level. More than a decade after the introduction of the RMX-1000—highly regarded by top DJs worldwide—the completely redesigned RMX-IGNITE combines dynamic sound shaping with advanced effects and opens up new dimensions for live performance.

With the RMX-IGNITE you can create visually and sonically stunning performances: levers and large rotary controls provide intuitive handling of the wide range of effects. Whether in the club, on a livestream or in videos, the combination of sound and movement unlocks entirely new ways to captivate the audience. Live remixes are effortless with the expanded sampler section, while the new Groove-Roll function adds extra dynamism and expression to samples. Thanks to the latest DSP technology and high-quality audio converters, the unit delivers professional audio quality.

The name RMX-IGNITE stands for unleashed creativity and new possibilities for DJs to express themselves. With this effects unit in your setup you can craft individual live performances that become unmistakable through expressive sound control and energetic movement.

Boundless expression through creative combinations: 3-band FX section The RMX-IGNITE's 3-band FX section offers two effect types: Lever-FX, which change the sound instantly and inspire spontaneous ideas, and Isolate-FX, which allow smooth, dynamic transitions. Each effect type can be applied independently to high, mid and low frequency bands, enabling up to six freely configurable effect combinations. Sub-parameter knobs provide fine tonal adjustment so you can shape track progressions and create expressive performances. The impressive tactile operation of the levers and large knobs not only alters the sound but also creates a visually striking performance.

20 built-in sounds plus support for your own samples

The RMX-IGNITE's sampler section lets you expand performances with new sonic textures and creative options. 20 carefully selected samples from Loopcloud—a leading platform for royalty-free sounds used by countless electronic music producers—are preinstalled. These sounds let you add unique rhythms and creative accents to your DJ sets immediately, with no prep required.

With the dedicated RMX-IGNITE Sample Manager software you can also export your own samples to a USB stick and load them directly into the unit—or load them via a DJ player connected through PRO DJ LINK—to integrate the sounds straight into your set.

Sampler section: Flexible integration of additional sound sources:

Sample trigger pads: Intuitive playback under your fingertips

The four sample trigger pads are made from robust materials and feature white LEDs for optimal visibility and playability—ideal for triggering samples intuitively. In overdub mode you can record and loop one-bar phrases, allowing multiple sounds to be layered and dynamic progressions to be built within a track.

Sample Roll: Create build-ups and fills

Samples triggered by the pads can be played in ten rhythmic patterns. The newly developed Groove-Roll produces expressive variations—by pressing multiple Sample Roll buttons simultaneously you get accented, flowing rolls that give build-ups more character and energy.

Sampler Colour FX: Depth and motion for samples

The sampler section includes six dedicated effects (Echo, Space, Filter, Pitch, Decay, Swing) controlled by a single knob. This lets you transform samples instantly and add depth, tension or swing. Because these effects operate independently from the 3-band FX section, samples can be processed separately—providing a clear boost in creative possibilities.

Release Echo: Instant reset with a single action

A large button lets you instantly reset applied effects and samples so the transition returns smoothly to the original track with an echo tail. Two modes are available for different situations: in Dry mode the track naturally returns to its original state while maintaining musical flow, whereas in Mute mode the sound is cut abruptly to create a break effect and playback can resume with dramatic variation.

Multi-colour display for the really important information

The multi-colour display lets you monitor key details such as 3-band FX sub-parameters, loaded samples, selected Sampler Colour FX, BPM and input/output levels. Samples can also be browsed and selected directly on-screen, enabling confident operation and full focus on the performance.

PRO DJ LINK support for precise beatmatching

By synchronising BPM and grid information with tracks playing on CDJs and other DJ players, Roll and Overdub functions will stay exactly on the beat. Samples can also be loaded directly from USB drives or SD cards inserted into players connected via PRO DJ LINK.

Digital send/return for instant setup and high audio quality

RMX-IGNITE supports digital send/return connections with DJM-A9 and DJM-V10 mixers. The quick setup uses a single USB cable connected to the MULTI I/O terminal of a compatible mixer. Because the audio signal is transmitted digitally, you get a clear, powerful sound with no loss of quality.

*To use the digital send/return the firmware of the compatible DJ mixer must be updated to the latest version.

Professional sound design for the stage

At the heart of the RMX-IGNITE is a completely new audio architecture that delivers significantly improved sound quality compared to the RMX-1000. In addition to studio-quality DSP mixing processing at 96 kHz/64-bit, high-quality 32-bit A/D and D/A converters from ESS Technology are used on the inputs and outputs. Each audio component was selected and optimised with great care, and the sound was finely tuned through extensive listening tests in real environments—including clubs. The result is a high-resolution, natural sound that faithfully represents the original source. With a neutral tuning the character of the input signal is preserved, allowing detailed effects to be applied seamlessly without degrading the natural audio quality.
