LP Guitars

LP stands for Les Paul guitars and is a registered trademark of Gibson. Les Paul, actually Lester William Polsfuss, was an American guitarist, who was instrumental in the development of the electric guitar and designed the Gibson single-cut solid-body electric guitar which is still the most popular Gibson guitar model. An essential feature of a classic Les Paul guitar is a mahogany body with a maple top. The LP guitar is powered by two humbuckers. Some models even have a third in the middle position humbucker. Controls typically include one tone and one volume control plus a three-way pickup selector switch. The Les Paul has seen several distinct incarnations over the years, but the design has remained largely unchanged since its introduction. Gibson's Les Paul is a true classic that changed music forever.
