Mark Knopfler had a problem after recording a Dire Straits LP: "How do I put the sound on the stage now? ". He then bought all the effects in the studio and had them mounted into a 19" rack. The Mark Knopfler Live Equipment was born. This applies not only to effects devices, but also to power amplifiers and preamps.

530 Preamp
There are two completely separate channels with six sound modes: Clean, Crunch, Normal Lead and HiGain. Each of the two lead sounds can be tuned with a Contour control. Controllable line-outs, a built-in stereo mini-amplifier with 2x1.5 Watt and the channel switching is done by foot switch or also via MIDI with the MIDI switchers Z-11.
