The Akai Professional MPD18 USB MIDI pad controller makes it easy to create and control beats and sounds just about anywhere in real time. The ultra-portable, USB bus powered MPD18 features 16 velocity and pressure sensitive pads that you can use to make beats and grooves with a human touch. The Akai MPD18 provides three separate sound banks from the pads, which means control of 48 total sounds from this compact controller.

You can also use the MPD18 to control software parameters in real time. The Akai MPD18 USB MIDI Pad Controller also features assignable Q-Link controllers from Akai Professional's MPC series, enabling you to control nearly any parameters in your software in real time. You get an assignable Q-Link fader and an assignable Q-Link button so you'll have natural, hands-on control of your most-used parameters.

The Akai MPD18 sends MIDI information over a plug-and-play USB interface so you can use it with your Mac or PC without installing additional drivers. The USB connection also powers the Akai MPD18 so the included USB cable is all you need for portable production. The Akai MPD18 can control nearly all MIDI software and MIDI hardware, such as synths, sound modules, samplers, sequencers, and drum machines. The Akai MPD18 also has 16 configurable presets so you can program it for the way you work with different hardware and software.
