Amp in a box pedals are really in - with relatively little financial effort, it is possible to put your otherwise sinfully expensive dream amps on the pedal board. In addition to the classics such as Plexi, Black Face and Tweed Amp, there are also some very cool exotics. These include the Aclam Guitars Dr. Robert Pedal. Dr. Robert? Wasn't there even a Beatles song of the same name? That's exactly how it is - the Dr. Robert Pedal is dedicated to the legendary Vox UL 730 Amp, a bizarre hybrid amp (transistor preamplifier - 1966 absolutely high tech and a tube amplifier with 4 EL84 tubes with 30 watts of power). The Beatles discovered this amp - the rest is history. The complete Sgt. Pepper album and Revolver tracks were recorded with the UL 730. Aclam Guitars has managed to pack this distinctive sound into a floor pedal. The extremely effective middle EQ plays an important role - everything is possible, from "Scooped Mid" to Mid Boost. The transistor preamplifier is followed by a FET section to simulate the characteristic amplifier saturation of the UL 730. The profession of Dr. Robert Pedals are clean and distorted sounds with the typical vox "chime" to fuzz. If that's not enough, there is also the "Mach Schau" function, a powerful booster for additional power stage distortion. The pedal's artwork is also exceptional: Klaus Voormann, the legendary bass player and gifted graphic artist, contributed a special graphic in the style of the "revolver" cover he designed.
