For 60 years the connection between Jimi Hendrix and Marshall has stood for a sound that has decisively shaped rock music. With his unique playing and the creative use of volume, distortion and feedback, Hendrix made the characteristic Marshall sound part of his unmistakable style and a role model for generations of guitarists. On the occasion of this anniversary, Marshall presents the limited Hendrix Anniversary Edition, based on the renowned Studio Vintage Series.
Marshall SV20H & 212 Cabinet
At the centre of the limited edition is the combination of the SV20H head and the matching 2x12" cabinet. The stack combines Marshall's classic character with an exclusive Hendrix design, developed in collaboration with the Hendrix family and recalling Jimi Hendrix's musical legacy. The special edition is manufactured in Great Britain.
Classic tube sound in a compact format
The proven Marshall SV20H forms the basis of the Hendrix model. Its 20-watt tube output delivers the characteristic Marshall sound, while the output can be reduced to 5 watts when required. In this way the amp combines classic tone with a compact and flexible format that can be used more flexibly than the large amplifier stacks that originally made this sound famous.
Classic Marshall concept with many possibilities
In the spirit of classic Marshall amps, the amplifier offers two combinable channels and four instrument inputs with high and low sensitivity, allowing for different tonal variations. With Volume I, Volume II, Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence the sound can be tailored individually. Five speaker outputs and selectable 16-, 8- or 4-ohm loads also provide the necessary flexibility for different cabinet configurations.

For its tube complement Marshall relies on a proven combination: the preamp uses two ECC83 tubes, complemented by another ECC83 as a phase splitter. The power stage is driven by two EL34 tubes. This gives the amp a classic tube configuration that has been closely associated with the characteristic British Marshall sound for decades.
