The Mackie 1604-VLZ3 Premium 16-Channel/4-Bus Compact Mixer adds to the legacy of the worlds best-selling mixer, the 1604-VLZ Pro. Sixteen studio-quality XDR2 second-generation mic preamps, along with redesigned 3-band Active EQ circuitry featuring with sweepable mids, give the Mackie 1604-VLZ3 a greatly enhanced sound quality. All channels feature insert points and line-level inputs for maximum versatility. The unique Rotopod option allows for two different desktop, and three different rackmount configurations. The new universal multi-voltage power supply allows the Mackie 1604-VLZ3 to be used anywhere in the world. The Mackie 1604-VLZ3 is ideal for live use, and home and project studios seeking superior performance. The versatile 1604-VLZ3 Compact Mixer is equally at home on the stage or in the studio. The optional Rotopod is a finely crafted all-steel fixture that allows the Mackie 1604-VLZ3 patchbay to be rotated to one of three positions. With the Rotopod kit you can configure your 1604 for desktop use with the jack field facing up, or standard as shipped out. For rackmount installations, the Rotopod makes it easy to access the patchbay from either the front or rear of the rack. WIth split monitoring, the first eight channels of the 1604-VLZ3 are used for sound sources such as vocal mics or drum mics. These input channels manipulate the sound, but are not assigned to the output section. Instead, theyre routed from the channels direct out jacks to the corresponding multitrack input. The signals will be recorded or passed directly through the multitrack, depending on the tracks record-ready status. The outputs of the multitrack are then routed to the next eight line inputs on the 1604-VLZ3, multitrack out 1 to line 9, 2 to 10, 3 to 11, and so on. Channels 9-16 will be assigned to the mixers output section, delivering the signals to their ultimate destination your mixdown 2-track, your control room system, or your headphones. Split-monitoring makes the 1604-VLZ3 an amazingly powerful 8-track recording console.
